Loose Lay is an easy to install LVT that requires adhesive for the perimeter tiles only. The LVT pieces within this glued perimeter are simply ‘laid’ down without any adhesive. The traction needed to hold the tiles at its place without any adhesive is provided by the added weight and the specialized backing.

How to install loose lay LVT?

Loose Lay LVT can be installed in following simple steps:

√ Store the boxes containing Loose Lay LVT in a neatly stacked manner and avoid direct sunlight.
√ Create a suitable environment for installation by acclimatizing the installation at 18° C to 29° C for 48 hours before and after the installation, and by ensuring that the subfloor is clean & dry.
√ Sort visual variation of Loose Lay LVT on at least 25% of the floor and categorize visual variation piles. For LVT’s having arrows on the back, ensure that all arrows point in the same direction. This will help create a consistent blend of flooring and avoid image variations.
√ Spread adhesive on the perimeter of the installation area. Take care that adhesive be applied only on the area that can be worked within the recommended working time recommended by the adhesive manufacturer.
√ Install next rows according to the desired pattern that can be monolithic, quarter turn, half drop, parallel random, or Herringbone.
√ Ensure that all tiles or planks are well set and flat with tight edges.
√ Clean the residual adhesive from the perimeter planks or tiles with a clean, damp cloth.
√ Thoroughly clean the LVT floor after 24 hours of installation with a cloth or mop damped with neutral pH cleaner.
